Southbridge Public Schools serve approximately 2,200 students in six schools. The district is presently undergoing extensive turnaround at all levels, with the assistance of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. This creates unique opportunities for teachers and students. One example is a long-term partnership with the University of Connecticut to develop Southbridge Schools to be a national demonstration site for successful implementation of PBIS strategies. Additionally, the district is the recipient of a number of significant grants that allow Secondary School redesign, curriculum enhancements, and improved culture and climate and afterschool opportunities for students. Southbridge Public schools is seeking a full-time Project Coordinator for the Southbridge CARES project.  The Project Coordinator will report to the district-based Project Director and will oversee grant implementation and management.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Coordinate calendars with stakeholders for all 4 grant project team meetings
  • Participate in grant project team meetings, distribute agendas prior to each meeting, and take and distribute meeting minutes
  • Track action items for each meeting and follow-up with responsible parties
  • Manage the project work plan and coordinate with organizational partners and team members to share updates
  • Coordinate with the SPS Technology department for grant-related technology needs.
  • Coordinate professional development for school staff to deliver SEL curriculum
  • Schedule the implementation of SEL curriculum and coordinate schedules of Clark University Graduate students
  • Support and monitor data collection
  • Prepare project update reports, as requested
  • Collaborate with Clark University and Project Evaluators to collect program data
  • Manage grant-related materials acquisition, receipt, and invoicing
  • Collaborate weekly with Project Director

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Two years of project management experience
  • Proficiency in managing remote meeting platforms, including Zoom and Google Meet
